I started Valence Visual because telling stories and connecting with others has always been a passion of mine. I wish I could say that I picked up a camera when I was 4 years old and it just clicked but that's not how it happened. I graduated with a degree in radio from Cedarville University and learned how to interview artists and people on the air, pulling out stories that captured others but that left me wanting more. I soon went into television where I helped produced shows and content. I worked with every videographers dream equipment but I didn't really know why I was unhappy just that I was. That's when I came upon wedding photography and videography. I found the perfect mix of telling people's stories and creating beautiful cinematic images. I find that every time I do a wedding I call my wife on the way back home gushing over all the fun the wedding party and I had. Those are the times I'm reminded that this is what I'm supposed to be doing! God has given me the opportunity to preserve memories for others and I'm grateful.

I chose the name Valence Visual because as I was doing some soul searching and researching for literal days, I kept coming back to what I wanted everyone to feel after every interaction with me. Valence means the outer ring of an atom but it also refers to the most positive emotions associated with a person, object, or an event. My goal in life is to bring all glory to Christ and at the same time bring a positive light and energy to everyone around me. This goes beyond this business and pierces every point in my life.

Now using this framework for how I approach preserving and documenting moments for others I know that my couples and their families will cherish those memories forever.
